I'm so glad you went, and have visibility and control over this. Thank you for sharing. You have me thinking about getting appointments for my husband and I.
Have my last one( aging out !) scheduled this month. Never a problem, but every 10 years isn’t a burden to make sure you are ok You could save some lives with this , Molly. 👍👍
Congrats on your last colonoscopy! I guess I didn’t realize you can age out of them, but that does make sense. Enjoy that delicious off-brand Gatorade 😂.
Thank you for taking care of you, and for reminding us all to do the same.
Funny true story about the prep (and your cute peach photos). I've had a few of the procedures - all fine and dandy, thanks very much - and the prep for each has been a little bit different, mostly flavor-wise. About ten years ago I had one that, absolutely no joke, tasted like peach going in and smelled like pineapple coming out. Or the other way around, I can never remember for sure. So all y'all, be prepared!
Most people I know who are reluctant to get this done are men -- get over it, already! Women are so used to being probed and prodded that getting probed and prodded one more time is not a big deal.
I also had one early due to my sister being diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer (at age 32!) and it WASN'T THAT BAD. It's definitely way less bad than a cancer diagnosis. The nurses are real pros, I cant say enough good things about nurses.
I'm really glad you went in and got checked. Everyone who has a close relative with polyps should get screened early, and the new age for screening is 45!

It really was no big deal, and the peace of mind is PRICELESS!

I’m going to use the pills! Next one would be at age 88, so unlikely( unless I am the most super healthy 88 year old !)
Hey, you never know!

The more we normalize colonoscopies, the better off we all are!
Just scheduled mine today. Thanks for this!
It’s not fun, but feels good to get it checked off the list ❤️
And then it’s all good writing content for my Substack, which is always a plus. Finding humor in all these things in middle age is the key!

Yikes, that is scary! Glad you got checked. It's something that's definitely worth asking your parents about, too!
