Thank you for saying that. This quest I’ve been on to feel better has felt lonely and, at times, embarrassing. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to be compassionate with myself and it does help knowing that a lot of people (especially women) know where I’m coming from. It also makes me so angry that women’s health is minimized, understudied, and under valued.
The weird shit I experienced as a postpartum mom was so frustrating. Why do my joints hurt? What’s this thing called “mommy’s thumb?” This is all coming from someone that still feels kind of guilty for shrinking back to my pre kid size just from nursing. Now I’m just trying to navigate how I feel having zero chest left after breastfeeding for a cumulative 28 months. 😭
Omg I had “mommy thumb” too! I forgot! Just one of the many, MANY surprises I faced and got shuffled around from my OB to a GP to a hand clinic (!) and then to a chiropractor who actually made it better. 😵💫 And yep, you might shrink back to your pre-baby size, but the boobs become deflated balloons. And we have to feel okay about it or we’re bad feminists or something. [Insert America Ferrera’s Barbie monologue here]. It’s so confusing.
This is so great. You have tapped into something universal here.

all of this. thank you for articulating it all so beautifully. :)
This is so so good Molly! And so universal, like Rachael said.
Thank you, Sarah! And hi!
Too bad women can’t EXPECT anyone to help find good solutions for this. If men went through this …..
Expect men to not even have a regular doctor. I know my husband doesn't!
Pres Biden just signed something today for more funding for women’s health. Much needed!
