What a great post. Once upon a time I was on Zoloft, but weaned off it (now on a different SSRI), but I don't remember an obsession with anyone. I DO remember having the worst restless leg syndrome of my life. I'm glad you are happy and healthy.
Now I can reassure T that his feeling weird and awful and worse than usual is because he’s been titrated off Zoloft. Thank you for this as well as the Inside-Your-Head trip at WF.
Yes i couldn’t believe how such a tiny amount of something could have such a BIG impact on my brain. It is wild! But I was grateful for the help when I needed it. Tell T that all the weirdness won’t be forever!
I LOVE your writing and Pedro Pascal. I am about 4 weeks off Zoloft after almost a decade on it. Crazy how the time just gets away from you. I feel good! I’m almost bummed I didn’t have a similar experience. Thanks for your always honest and funny stories.
I am mostly able to manage everything now through talk therapy and exercise— but was so grateful for the help when I was postpartum. I am sorry Pedro wasn’t there for you in your time of need, but I promise it was not as great as it sounds. 😂
Tom Hardy. The man has had a choke hold on me since Black Hawk Down. The voice .. the lips .. the devotion to his dog Woody. Excuse me while I fan myself.
Another great blog, Molly. I had no idea you contracted "Pedro Fever". Sounds like it was intense. It might run in the family. I've had a crush on him for a few years, too. Then again, who doesn't?? He's STILL everywhere with at least three (maybe seven) movies coming out this summer. John and I are going to see Materialists tonight. Wanna join us? Josh and John could commiserate. ;-)
Yes, I got that you were not still under the Pedro spell, but still rather fond. Just got home from the movie. It was a full theater and when Pedro entered the picture for the first time, there was lots of murmuring. I thought it was good. It was fun to be out in a theater on opening night though I might save it for streaming if I were you.
Wow…your crush list is top tier! I share all of those crushes, plus Benedict Cumberbatch. I’ve never had that sort of month-long obsession before, but I did have an experience once where after watching Kenneth Branagh in the full-length theatrical movie version of Hamlet in the movie theater, I turned to my husband and said, “If Kenneth Branagh walked up to me right now and asked me to go have sex with him in a hotel somewhere with him, I would. No reflection on our marriage…that movie was just that amazing”.
Molly! That was an excellent read! Even I (your other husband), wasn't totally sure of the connection between quitting Zoloft and Pedro, but I do now remember and man, you put it into words so well!

I think the experience is different for everyone. Restless legs sounds very annoying! Hope you are feeling happy and healthy, too. :)

I will! I’ll even offer to read your story out loud to him. 🤗

I literally belly laughed my way through this. So good, Molly!
Thanks, Katie! I laughed a lot while writing it if I'm being honest!

The dog takes it to the next level! 🔥🔥🔥
Resist the puppy! :)
This is the Substack I never knew I needed. So glad you got on and off Zoloft with only a crush on Pedro 😊
Yes, I was lucky!

This happened a few years ago, but I still love me some Pedro. He is still everywhere and i am not mad about it! Can't wait to hear about that movie!

Oh I totally get that crush! The accent helps. Lots of Brits to add to the crush list. 🇬🇧💂🇬🇧

Intrusive thoughts is apparently a less common but very real symptom. At least I wasn’t obsessed with someone awful!
Molly, I’ve been considering SSRI’s and can’t express how much I appreciate this.
If you ever want to have a more in-depth conversation, I am here! It was a game changer for me when I needed it.
